What can management
say about my decision to join AFA?
Management can’t say much about your decision to join
AFA. Your decision is a personal one, and it’s also legally
protected.
Management cannot...
Tell employees
that they will be fired or punished if they engage in union
activity.
Layoff or
discharge any employee for engaging in union activity.
Bar employees
from discussing AFA or recruiting members during non-work
time.
Ask employees
about confidential union matters (e.g., whether you have
signed an authorization card).
Ask employees
about whether they support union representation or a
particular union.
Ask employees
how they intend to vote in a union election.
Threaten
employees or coerce them in an attempt to influence their
vote.
Tell employees
that existing benefits will be discontinued if the workplace
is unionized.
Threaten that
unionization will take away current job-related benefits and
privileges.
Promise or give
employees promotions, raises or other benefits for voting
against a union.
Prevent you from
casting your ballot.

from airline management, contact the AFA Legal Department at

a decision free from fear and intimidation by your boss.
