A Message From The Leadership Development Committee

You may be reading this message from your home computer, in your local council office or via your laptop on a layover, where access to the Association of Flight Attendant's training needs are being made available to you. By browsing our web-site you will discover not only links to other informative web-sites, but academic programs developed just for you that will strengthen you as an Association member, and enhance your future with a Bachelor of Arts or Master of Arts Degree.

The Leadership Development Committee's mission is to study on-going training needs of the Association's representatives and its members and to make recommendations that may develop new training programs or enhance existing ones.

In carrying out our mission, we worked with the National Labor College to create a joint bachelor's degree program for the Association's leaders that has been in effect since April 2001 and produced graduates as early as June 2002.

Currently the Leadership Development Committee is working on a degree program for all Association members. This Bachelor's degree will give you between 36-39 college credits for your flight attendant skills/training. The remainder of your credits is accrued through on-line classes and internships through the Association of Flight Attendants.

The Leadership Development Committee is working to prepare you for today's challenges and a future of opportunities.

Sincerely,

Guy Bosworth,  Suzanne Kirkpatrick, Deborah Wilk
