Continental and Continental Micronesia Flight Attendants Congratulate United Peers On Contract
Foundation Improved for Single Contract Negotiations
Chicago, IL – Following the overwhelming vote by Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), to ratify a contract for improvements covering the 15,000 pre-merger AFA members at United Airlines, the union’s leaders from Continental and Continental Micronesia issued the following statement of congratulations:
“The Continental and Continental Micronesia Master Executive Councils congratulate the legacy United Flight Attendants on ratifying their agreement. The ratification of the legacy United agreement lays one of the three cornerstones necessary to reaching an industry leading joint agreement,” stated Suzanne Hendricks and Marcus Valentino, the AFA presidents representing the 10,000 Flight Attendants from pre-merger Continental Micronesia and Continental, respectively.
The Association of Flight Attendants is the world’s largest Flight Attendant union. Focused 100 percent on Flight Attendant issues, AFA has been the leader in advancing the Flight Attendant profession for over 65 years. Serving as the voice for Flight Attendants in the workplace, in the aviation industry, in the media and on Capitol Hill, AFA has transformed the Flight Attendant profession by raising wages, benefits and working conditions. More than 60,000 Flight Attendants, including the 26,000 Flight Attendants at the new United, join together to form AFA, part of the 700,000 member strong Communications Workers of America, AFL-CIO.
