Flight Attendant Union Files For Mediation At Compass Airlines
Washington, DC – Compass Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), filed for mediation with the National Mediation Board (NMB) today after negotiations with management recently stalled. Compass is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Trans States Holdings and serves as a Delta Connection Carrier.
“Compass Flight Attendants have played a critical role in the success of the airline since operations launched five years ago. It is time that the tremendous efforts from Compass Flight Attendants are recognized,” said Catriona Bagley, AFA Compass Airlines President. “Compass Flight Attendants want the valuable protections a legally binding contract provides. With the assistance of the NMB, we look forward to securing a contract that values Compass Flight Attendants’ role as first responders in the cabin.”
AFA requested mediation after negotiations were brought to a halt over compensation, scheduling, and other issues. This is AFA’s first contract at Compass Airlines for the nearly 450 Flight Attendants.
