US Airways Express/PSA Airlines Flight Attendants Reach Tentative Contract Agreement

WASHINGTON, DC – US Airways Express/PSA Airlines flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants, AFL-CIO, have reached a tentative contract agreement with the airline.

“The past nine months have been very difficult for those of us who work in the airline industry,” said Debra Dahl, AFA US Airways Express/PSA Airlines President. “I’m glad that we could work with the company to reach an agreement through these trying circumstances.”

The tentative agreement was reached early Friday morning, approximately six months after the flight attendant contract became amendable on December 31, 2001. However, details of the tentative agreement are not being disclosed until after the PSA Airlines flight attendants vote on the proposed contract. A simple majority of PSA flight attendants must vote “yes” to ratify the contract.

This agreement is also contingent upon 100 percent participation by all other PSA employee groups in the company’s Restructuring Plan.

More than 50,000 flight attendants at 26 airlines -- including the 135 flight attendants at PSA -- join together to form AFA, the world’s largest flight attendant union. For more information, visit AFA’s website at www.afanet.org.
